Dresser Wins Contract to Provide Total Control Valve Solution to PDVSA's Natural Gas Pipeline Upgrade Project in Venezuela

Zero-Bleed™ Control Valves Significantly Reduce Gas Emissions, Resulting in Improved Environmental Preservation and Cost Savings

HOUSTON (October 26, 2010) – Dresser Inc. today announced it is providing a total control valve solution to PDVSA’s Anaco Gas Production Project in Venezuela with the company’s rotary, globe and digital product lines.

The “Suministro de Gas Combustible al Centro Operativo San Joaquin” natural gas pipeline project will be equipped with the Dresser Becker QTCV-T2 and QTCV-T4 quiet trim control valves, Dresser Becker RPSR rotary piston spring return actuator, Dresser Becker VRP-SB-PID valve regulator pilot, Dresser Masoneilan SVI® II AP digital valve positioners, and Dresser Masoneilan V-Max control ball valve. The QTCV control valves, which use a ball instead of a globe, are relatively new in Latin America. The zerobleed control valves drastically reduce gas emissions, both improving the customer's environmental performance and saving operating expense.

“We are pleased to have been selected for the PDVSA project. Dresser products provide highly engineered reliable solutions and services for projects worldwide,” said Brad Smith, global product manager, rotary products for Dresser Masoneilan.
“By providing a complete set of control valve technologies, we are able to provide a solution that not only meets PDVSA’s stringent site specifications, but also helps them deliver natural gas to the people of Venezuela with less impact to their environment,” said Greg Giernoth, marketing manager for Dresser
Becker.

Dresser Becker control valves are ideal for use when there is a need to reduce noise. The QTCV-T2 Quiet Trim Control Valve is a trunnion-mounted rotary control valve designed for moderate to severe service, featuring a side-entry, forged body and end closures that allow easy maintenance or repair. The
QTCV-T4 Quiet Trim Control Valve is ideal for aggressive natural gas regulation applications where dirt and higher pressure differential demands a more rugged control valve.

Dresser Masoneilan digital valve positioners provide flexibility for a range of applications. The SVI® II AP Digital Valve Positioner offers a one-model-fits-all configurability for both rotary and reciprocating applications, providing dependable predictive and preventive maintenance. The SVI II AP combined with
the V-Max High Capacity Ball Valve provide precise control and high capacity, while maintaining consistent shutoff integrity within the natural gas pipeline.
