Force Balance Electro-Pneumatic Transducer

The Model 8007 and 8008 electro-pneumatic transducers provide accurate and reliable conversion of controller dc signals directly to 3-15 psi and 6-30 psi pneumatic outputs within fully integrated packages. These transducers are force balance type designs using flapper nozzle technology, providing excellent operating performance either in combination with a pneumatic positioner (8007) or directly controlling a pneumatic actuator with an integrated relay design (8008).

Selection Criteria

Models 8007 and 8008 electro-pneumatic transducers are excellent choices, where direct output to the actuator is required. It is also well-suited for applications where other control input ranges are needed (such as 1-5 mA or 10-50 mA). These transducers can be configured for either direct or reverse action by simply switching the lead connections on the terminal board.

These transducers are constructed with an internal flapper nozzle design providing a highly responsive current-to-pneumatic signal conversion device. The 8007 and 8008 can also be configured for direct or reverse operation utilizing the same mounting system and mounting orientation. The Model 8008 also includes an internal relay sub-assembly providing the capability to directly control the actuator without a separate control valve positioner.
