Built around the Dresser Masoneilan V-LOG® Energy Management Trim and the Dresser Masoneilan Lo-DB Trim designs, the 49000 Series cast body construction is capable of handling a wide range of both liquid and gas services in a variety of process industries.

Selection Criteria

The 49000 Series control valve is designed to meet a wide variety of severe service applications. It is available with Dresser Masoneilan’s Lo-dB noise attenuation trim and the V-LOG Energy Management Trim. Unique designs with various trim combinations allow for optimized solutions for each severe service application. In addition to low noise solutions, the 49000 series can also handle high pressure liquid letdown applications using anti-cavitation trim designs such as the Liquid V-LOG.

Key Features

The 49000 Series is designed with an enlarged cast body gallery to accomodate higher capacity trim designs. The larger flow gallery is further enhanced by the inherent ability to have expanded or reduced inlet and/or outlet body connections. The result is high flow capacities while maintaining the flexibility and capability to accomodate complex piping arrangements. The galleries are also sized to accept "typical" V-LOG trim dimensions providing a standardized body platform while offering an overall optimized engineered solution.

Benefits

Compared to forged or fabricated bodies, the cast globe-style body of the 49000 Series can provide some significant savings in weight and overall dimensions. This helps to reduce handling costs and complexity while still providing the design flexibility required to provide an optimized solution for efficient process control. The V-LOG Trim can be designed for use with either compressible or incompressible fluids under severe service conditions providing protection from noise or cavitation which could negatively affect the valve and/or surrounding equipment.
