The Dresser Masoneilan 77000 Series is designed for extremely high pressure applications, which require multiple pressure letdown stages and expanding downstream area in the trim to account for compressible flow expansion. The unique trim design allows for safe pressure reduction of dirty gases and flashing/multi-phase liquids by directing the flow through a series of expanding stages. Selection Criteria

The 77000 Series control valve is uniquely suitable for use on some of the most difficult hydroprocessing applications. The 77000 Series is approved for use on high temperature high pressure separator letdown applications on hydrocracking and hydrotreating units licensed by industry technology leaders UOP and Chevron Lummus Global. The Dresser Masoneilan 77000 Series has been successfully used on these rigorous applications for more than 30 years.

Key Features

The 77000 Series is uniquely designed with expanding area multi-stage trim, providing controlled pressure letdown of expanding gases. This design is applicable either for process fluids composed entirely of gas or process fluids with entrained gases which out-gas (flash) as the system pressure reduces. Unlike other multi-stage valve technologies, the expanding area trim in the 77000 Series allows for safe and efficient process control without the flow becoming potentially choked due to restricted flow area.
